Wayne High grad Kinnel wins Big 10 Defensive Player of the Week

Michigan defensive back Tyree Kinnel, a native of Huber Heights and graduate of Wayne High School, was named Big 10 Defensive Player of the Week for his work in the Wolverines’ 36-14 win over Cincinnati Saturday.

The junior returned his first career interception 28 yards for a touchdown. He collected a team-best nine tackles, with eight being solo. He also added his first career tackle for loss and first career sack.
