Fairborn stunned Stebbins 35-34 with a late rally to earn its first high school football victory Friday night.
In a game that saw six lead changes, Fairborn (1-5) rebounded from last week’s tough loss to Tippecanoe in the waning seconds to overtake host Stebbins (2-4) with a fourth-quarter rally.
Early in the contest, Fairborn’s K.J. Redmon answered every Indians score with TD runs of his own as the Skyhawks would tie the game at 21 late in the third.
Brandon Easterling returned a fumble 60 yards to set up his own short TD run to give Fairborn a brief lead. However, Stebbins answered with touchdowns from Joe Simpkins and CJ Martin to take a 34-28 advantage halfway through the final period.
Skyhawks junior Dawson Blakely reeled in a 47-yard TD catch with five minutes remaining to secure Fairborn’s first win in the GWOC American South division.
Lebanon 35, Northmont 14: Lebanon (5-1, 1-0 GWOC National West) scored 35 unanswered points to pull off the win at Northmont (3-3, 0-1). Dakota Allen threw for 204 yards and three TDs for the Warriors.
Miamisburg 45, Fairmont 14: Jake Neatherton scored on runs of 47 and 67 yards and added a 77-yard TD reception to lead the host Vikings (5-1). Braden Miller led Fairmont (0-6) with 76 yards rushing including a late TD run.
Vandalia Butler 14, Greenville 6: Aviators QB Mason Motter scrambled 33 yards for Butler's lone TD. Andrew Boren chipped in a 23-yard field goal, and the defense added a pair of safeties. Butler (4-2) picked up the conference win in its first GWOC American North showdown. The host Green Wave (3-3, 0-1) lost its second straight contest.
Trotwood-Madison 66, West Carrollton 6: Raveion Hargrove rushed for 162 yards and three TDs as the Rams (5-1, 2-0 GWOC American South) won their fifth straight.
Oakwood 32, Brookville 19: Michael Watson returned an interception 36 yards for visiting Oakwood's first touchdown with less than a minute to play in the first half. Connor Dinkler and Dylan Caplette each scored a pair of second-half TDs as the Lumberjacks (1-5, 1-1 SWBL Southwestern) got their first win. Bailey Wallen rushed for two scores for Brookville (3-3, 1-2).
Dixie 51, Northridge 21: The visiting Greyhounds (4-2, 2-0 SWBL Buckeye) reeled off 44 unanswered points. Ethan Arnett scored four touchdowns for Dixie.
Monroe 31, Eaton 14: Evan Lane's fumble recovery for a score gave the host Hornets (2-4, 2-1 SWBL Southwestern) a 17-14 lead. Alex Bannister followed with two of his three touchdowns to put the game away.
Mechanicsburg 31, WL-Salem 0: Kaleb Romero set a Mechanicsburg record by scoring a TD in his 29th consecutive game.
Coldwater 41, Parkway 7: Neal Muhlenkamp had five catches for 129 yards and a touchdown for Coldwater (6-0, 4-0 MAC).
St. Henry 34, Minster 14: Ryan Luttmer had two TD runs for St. Henry (4-2, 3-1 MAC). Bryce Schmiesing set a school record with 34 straight games with a reception for Minster (2-4, 0-4).
Clinton-Massie 70, Washington CH 0: Massie (5-1, 3-0 SCOL) blanked its 38th conference opponent since entering the South Central Ohio League in 2005. Cole O'Bryon, Jaycob Wolf, Clayton Sheeley, and Christian Poynter each had two TDs.
