Week 4: Fairmont beats Springboro; Trotwood gets back to winning

Jesse Deglow had a pair of rushing touchdowns in the second half to help Fairmont put away Springboro 24-12 in high school football action on Friday.

Deglow racked up 180 yards on 28 carries and Braden Miller tacked on 79 yards with a TD.

Landon Palmer passed for 211 yards and two touchdowns in a losing effort for ‘Boro.

Fairmont improved to 3-1 with the win; Springboro fell to 1-3.

Trotwood 41, Sidney 7: Cooper Stewart tallied 121 yards through the air with scoring tosses to Justin Stephens and Geroge Anderson for Trotwood. Stewart, Keon Hamilton and Ke'shawn Huguely each added a rushing TD. Lathan Jones hauled in the lone TD pass for Sidney from Ryan Dunham.

Lebanon 41, Beavercreek 10: Kyle Short threw for 154 yards with two touchdowns and added 92 yards with a TD on the ground to lead Lebanon, which scored 27 unanswered points after a close first half. Keith Farr tacked on 150 yards rushing with a TD. Brett Cherry ran in the lone TD for 'Creek.

Piqua 29, Fairborn 14: Micah Karn had a five-yard touchdown scramble and a 28-yard TD toss Owen Toopes in the fourth quarter to help Piqua pull away for the win. Karn finished with 170 yards through the air and two rushing scores. Hunter Warner and Garrison Secrest each had a rushing score for Fairborn.

Tippecanoe 56, West Carrollton 26: Josh Burritt rushed for 240 yards on 12 carries with two touchdowns and Cade Beam had 130 yards on eight carries with three scores as Tippecanoe racked up 563 yards on the ground in the win. Tristan Dillon finished 25-of-41 for 350 yards and three touchdowns in a losing effort for WC.

Xenia 35, Greenville 0: Sincere Wells carried Xenia with 184 yards on 17 carries and a pair of touchdowns. Christian Severt and Andrew Pollender each had a rushing score and Kevin Johnson tacked on an 89-yard punt return for a TD.

Troy 62, Stebbins 0: Brayden Siler threw for five touchdowns and Jaydon Culp-Bishop ran in four to lead Troy in the rout. Siler finished 17-of-20 for 315 yards with Shane Shoop and Cailou Monroe each hauling in a pair of TD passes. Culp-Bishop tallied 135 yards on the ground.

Oak Hills 20, Hamilton 13: Quincy Simms-Marshall and Kaleb Johnson each had a rushing score in the fourth quarter as Hamilton tied the game with six minutes to play, but Oak Hills responded with a 14-yard TD scamper from Aaron Frick to take the lead.

Colerain 44, Middletown 3: Deante Smith-Moore threw for 316 yards with five touchdowns, three of which went to J.J. Davis, to lead Colerain. Angel Rivera's 28-yard field goal marked the lone score for Middletown.

Alter 49, Roger Bacon 14: Brandon McDonald exploded for over 300 yards rushing with four touchdowns, including breakaway scores of 69 and 70 yards, to carry Alter. Connor Bazelak, Peter Riazzi and C.J. Hicks each added a TD.

Carroll 37, McNicholas 28: Fred Butts started the scoring for Carroll with two touchdown runs, Sam Severt tacked on a 76-yard interception return for a score and Trent Fox threw two TD passes. Butts finished with 135 yards on the ground and Fox tallied 141 through the air.

Valley View 31, Oakwood 7: Oakwood struck first with a 90-yard scoring strike from Tommy Lunne to Jack Armstrong, but Valley View scored 31 unanswered points to close the game. Cade Cradlebaugh led the way with TD passes to Jarrett Lynch and Troy Coulter along with a rushing touchdown.

Tecumseh 34, Northwestern 14: Lucas Rodgers, David Berner, Will Sowder and Andrew Betleyoun each ran in a touchdown, with Rodgers going for 115 yards on the ground to lead Tecumseh. Eli Berner recorded 111 yards rushing with a TD run for Northwestern.

Jonathan Alder 28, Ben Logan 12: J.T. Keith tossed a pair of touchdown passes and Jackson Welsch and Mason Seum added a rushing TD apiece for JA. Trent Berry and Cole Jones each had a short rushing touchdown for BL.

Bellefontaine 42, Graham 6: Bellefontaine held Graham to 38 yards rushing while picking up 344 on the ground themselves in the win.

Twin Valley South 26, National Trail 20, OT: Cade Cottongim's 29-yard TD run ended the game after National Trail missed a field goal attempt. Cottongim also tossed a 57-yard scoring strike to Chandler Napier and a 90-yard kickoff return for a score. Evynn Short threw two touchdowns and ran in a third for NT.

Fort Loramie 21, Miami East 7: Loramie avenged a one-point loss from last season with the win. Collin Moore led the way with 212 yards passing and two touchdowns. Vincent Villella ran in the lone TD for East.

West Liberty-Salem 63, Catholic Central 0: Trevor Woodruff tossed five touchdowns, including two to Holden Neese, to pace WLS in the big win.

New Bremen 19, Fort Recovery 15: Nolan Barnhorst connected with Bryce Blickle on a 30-yard TD with 1:49 to play to put New Bremen ahead. Clay Schmitz tossed a pair of touchdown passes for Fort Recovery.
