Wright State took Sunday’s rubber match against No. 20 Louisiana-Lafayette with a 4-3 road win.
Peyton Burdick hit a two-run home run, and Seth Gray added an RBI single as part of a three-run fourth inning. The final scored on Zane Harris’ bases-loaded walk in the ninth.
Caleb Sampen allowed two runs on seven hits through five innings to pick up the win, and Derek Hendrixson earned a four-inning save to give the Raiders (2-4) another victory against a nationally ranked team.
WSU took two of three from No. 10 Clemson in last year’s season-opening series and won a game against No. 4 South Carolina the following week.
In addition to Sunday's win, the Raiders beat the Rajun Cajuns 8-2 in Friday's opener.
Wright State will remain on the road through the school’s spring break, facing Sam Houston State for two games Tuesday and Wednesday before play a three-game weekend set at Texas-Arlington.
