For Google Drive and Google Doc users Friday, a disruption in service meant a late start to the weekend.
Apparently there were a lot of people fervently working to meet a Friday afternoon deadline, and found themselves locked out of their precious Google documents, which includes word processing, spreadsheet and presentation tools.
Google addressed the problem on Twitter around 3 p.m. EST.
Many people reported regaining functionality within about two hours, but losing that crucial part of Friday afternoon left many office staff in a state of panic.
At 5:45 p.m. EST, Google Docs gave the all clear.
But by then, the damage had been done.
