Looking back at July: Above normal rainfall, temps never hit 90

July ended up being a wet month with 11 days with measurable rain at the Dayton International Airport, said Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Kirstie Zontini.

Totals for the month came to 4.8 inches which makes Dayton almost nine inches above normal for the year. The wet weather may have also impacted our total of 90 degree days. July 2017 will end with zero 90 degree days.

So far, there has only been one 90-degree day, which was back in June. According to the National Weather Service, the Dayton airport on average can get as many as 22 days at or above 90 degrees year.

Temperatures this week will be near normal for the start of August. Most days will be in the low to mid 80s. The shot for showers and storms will increase as we head towards the end of the week. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will feature some scattered storms.
