Preview of spring? Sunshine, warmer temperatures expected this week

Warm, sunny and dry weather will move into the region this week, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Today will be mostly sunny with the chance for a few passing clouds during the day. A few light but breezy winds are expected in the morning.

High temperatures will be similar to yesterday, reaching the mid to high 40s. Lows temperatures overnight will hover just above freezing. More clouds are expected to roll into the area tonight.

The warm-up continues into Tuesday with highs in the mid to high 50s. Temperatures could reach the 60s around the Ohio River. People can expect a mostly sunny day. Some gusty winds will range between 6 to 10 mph before calming around evening.

Colder weather settles in for the night with a low of 33 degrees.

Wednesday is mostly sunny and relatively warm, bringing a high of 57.

The night is partly cloudy with a low of 35 degrees.

Temperatures will be closer to normal Thursday after a cold front moves into the region.

Thursday rolls in with partial sunshine and highs in the mid 40s. Lowes overnight could drop into the high 20s.

Warmer temperatures will return Friday, reaching the 50s.
