Thursday weather: Cool with decreasing clouds

As the days grow shorter and the air gets cooler, Mother Nature has started pulling back the blanket of green foliage to reveal the bright reds, yellows, oranges and browns of autumn at Lincoln Park in Kettering. MARSHALL GORBY\STAFF

Today will be cool and partly cloudy, with some sunshine this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

A cold front will move through the region, resulting in cooler and more seasonable temperatures. Highs will be around 59 degrees.

Clouds will increase again overnight as temperatures fall to around 42 degrees.

Skies will gradually clear again on Friday, with a high around 57 degrees.

Overnight, it will be mostly clear and freezing cold, with low temperatures falling to around 30 degrees.

Veteran’s Day will be mostly sunny and cool, with highs around 50 degrees.

On Saturday night, it will be mostly clear and again freezing cold, with lows around 30 degrees.

Sunny and dry conditions continue Sunday, with temperatures a few degrees warmer. Highs will be in the low to mid-50s with overnight lows around freezing.
