Warm weekend to end with passing storms

Mostly clear skies are expected overnight with temperatures holding in the lower 60s, Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Eric Elwell said.

Sunday: Much of the day will be dry with increasing clouds. There will be the chance for a few showers and storms, mainly north of Interstate 70 by late afternoon and into the evening. An isolated storm could be strong late in the day. Temperatures will climb back into the middle 80s.

Monday: A few showers or storms will be possible, mainly south of I-70, where one or two could be strong. Most of the showers and storms should exit by late day. It will turn a bit cooler with high temperatures in the upper 70s.

Tuesday: Expect plenty of sunshine early with some clouds in the afternoon. It will be cooler with highs in the middle 70s.

Wednesday: A mix of sun and clouds is expected with highs a bit below normal, in the lower to middle 70s.

Thursday: Mostly sunny skies are expected with highs topping out near 80 degrees.
