Dayton Music Insider: Live music starts to make its comeback

Live music is slowly starting to get back into the swing of things, but it doesn't look exactly the same. You'll find both virtual shows and in person concerts with masks and social distancing required. However for those of who have been desperately missing music, we'll take it however we can get it.

Guided By Voices Virtual ConcertFans across the world were stoked to find out via Rolling Stone magazine that Dayton's most legendary band, Guided By Voices, is presenting a virtual concert at 5 p.m. Friday, July 17. The event will be set at The Brightside in Dayton. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 day of show at https://noonchorus.com/brightside-gbv.

The online admission includes on-demand streaming for 96 hours after the show. The band partnered with The Brightside and more than 30 other venues in the United States, as well as in London and Toronto, for online ticket sales. Each venue receives 20 percent from every ticket they sell.

"Just Pete" at Blind Bob's - Ben & Pete are two educators who began performing music in the school setting. About eight years ago, they were given the opportunity to play live music on a bar patio, and there's no looking back. Just Pete is performing solo from 8:30-11 p.m. on Friday, July 17. No cover. 21+

Trey Stone 50th Birthday Party - If you're ready to experience in person live music, it doesn't get much better than Saturday night's show at the Yellow Cab Food Hub Stage. Dayton's own Trey Stone is turning the big -0, and to celebrate he'll be performing alongside Brian Hoeflich and others this Saturday, July 18.

Music starts at 8:30 with a $7 cover starting at 7:30. Music will run till 10:30 p.m. Please be sure to read Yellow Cab's new attendance policies at yellowcabfoodtrucks.com before coming out!
