El Meson We Love You and We Love Margaritas to support Dayton Foodbank

El Meson, one of the Dayton area’s beloved restaurants, has reopened and is thanking the public for their support with a special fundraiser for the Dayton’s Foodbank.

“Everyone is feeling a little tense these days, and that's understandable,” the owners stated in a recent press release. “We just wanted to say, ‘We love you.’ Our customers have been there for us through all of this. The messages, the conversations, the comments, all of it has kept us going. That's why we want to try to keep pushing the needle toward a ‘safe normal’ by hosting one of our signature special events!”

The special event is We Love You and We Love Margaritas, is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, at 6:30 p.m. Patrons will get three signature margaritas and three special tacos served on the El Meson patio and indoor dining spaces. There is also a designated driver ticket available, that comes without the margaritas.

“Everyone’s been through so much these last few months,” Bill Castro, El Meson owner, in the release. “Part of a restaurant’s place in the community is to bring people together. It’s an opportunity for people to communicate with each other and become closer.”

The restaurant is going to be donating a portion of the proceeds back to The Foodbank to give back to the community that supported them through the coronavirus shutdown.

“Now more than ever organizations like the Food Bank need our support.” he said. “Through the tornadoes and our most recent struggles, they have always been a cornerstone of the community in supporting those most in need. Now they need our support more than ever.”
