Book lovers rejoice! The 50th annual Dayton Book Fair begins today, Nov. 12, and continues through Monday, Nov. 15 at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds.

Ohio’s largest sale of second-hand books offers 50 tons of books, separated into over 80 categories. Feel free to bring scanners to check for book values.

A special focus of the fair is Harriet Beecher Stowe, author of “Uncle Tom’s Cabin.” A large number of her works, including books on abolition and slavery, will be available.

Due to a limited number of shopping carts this year, be sure to bring your own carts and wagons.

In addition, a silent auction featuring many “interesting, unique” titles ends at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Admission wristbands for today are $10 each. On Saturday and Sunday, admission is free. Sunday is also Bag Day, offering you a chance to stuff all you want into a paper grocery bag for $7.50. The bag will be supplied.

Monday is known as the Clean Sweep. You can pay $1 for admission and take home anything you want. Have your boxes ready!
