A new event catered to bourbon and whiskey lovers is set to become an annual event in downtown Dayton.

Dayton Barrel Works’ inaugural Bourbon & Whiskey Bash will be held Saturday, Nov. 20 from noon to 3 p.m. In addition to offering over 40 different bourbons and whiskeys to sample, the event features live music, small bites, distillery reps and experts, vendors and more.

Peter Hilgeman, local distiller and owner of both Dayton Beer Company and Dayton Barrel Works, said an event like this is pretty common in the beer world. However, a whiskey and bourbon experience of this magnitude is pretty unique in the spirits world.

Tickets to the event are $50 for general admission and $75 for VIP which offers guests an additional 12+ special release/rare bourbons to sample. All tickets come with a logo sample glass.

Tickets are currently available in-person at Dayton Barrel Works and the Dayton Beer Company taproom during open hours, and will also be available on the day of for walk-ins.

During the event, Dayton Barrel Works will release its Rubicon Creek Distillers Blend, the distillery’s newest release of a Straight Bourbon and Straight Rye Whiskey. The bourbon and whiskey is finished in Colombian Rum barrels and blended together.

Bottles of the Rubicon Creek Distillers Blend will be available for purchase for the first time during the Bash. Only 800 bottles total are available, so attendees get first dibs before the bottles are released to the public following the event.

“It’s definitely an awesome opportunity to sample a lot of different whiskeys all in one place and get to meet and talk to the people behind them,” Hilgeman said. “We will have vendors spread out all over the property so people will get a chance to have more one-on-one time with the vendors and reps to learn about their spirits and stories.”
