In September, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a 40-percent, six-year credit for the company, a division of JMD Corp., to move to Centerville from East Syracuse, N.Y.
Aeroseal has opened its headquarters in a 15,000-square-foot office and manufacturing facility at 7989 S. Suburban Road, a building the company is leasing.
Fixing or sealing leaks in air duct systems can save homeowners “on average” $600 to $850 a year on heating and cooling costs, according to a story on the company’s technology on a U.S. Department of Energy web site, www.energy.gov.
Aeroseal has licensed the technology, which the department says was developed by the federal government’s Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. Technicians block furnace, fan and grille openings to isolate leaks, then spray aerosolized vinyl polymer particles into the duct system, where they seal the leaks, according to the department.
“We’re excited to be a new member of the Dayton-area business community,” Aeroseal President Amit Gupta said in a press release. “Centerville offers both the professional support and lifestyle that is ideal for a growing company like Aeroseal.”
The company has 10 employees locally since opening its Centerville office. Openings remain for administrative, technical and sales jobs, the firm said in its announcement. It expects to create more jobs “over the next several years,” the firm said.
Aeroseal’s address is the former home of B&B Quality Tool, which closed more than 18 months ago.
