“It really opens the door for companies to get work at Wright-Patterson,” said Maurice McDonald, vice president for military affairs at the Dayton Development Coalition. The coalition works to support Wright-Patterson and is also leading a statewide initiative to build Ohio’s aerospace and defense industries.
“It shows that if we can bring our ‘A’ game to the table, our local contractors can compete for these types of contracts,” said U.S. Rep. Steve Austria, R-Beavercreek.
He formed a panel in 2009 to examine how local businesses and universities could position themselves to win more of Wright-Patterson’s work.
From this week through Dec. 1, 2014, the 19 companies have the right to compete for engineering, technical and management services requested by the base’s biggest organizations: the Air Force Materiel Command headquarters, Aeronautical Systems Center, National Air and Space Intelligence Center, Air Force Research Laboratory and Air Force Institute of Technology.
Local companies in the group are Array Information Technology Inc., Riverside; BTAS Inc., Beavercreek; Intelligent Decisions, Beavercreek; Innovative Technologies Corp., Dayton; Linquest Corp., Beavercreek; MCR Federal LLC, Beavercreek; PESystems Inc., Riverside; Quantech Services Inc., Beavercreek; Sumaria, Fairborn, and a joint venture of Peerless Technologies Corp., Fairborn, and MacAulay-Brown Inc., Beavercreek.
