Autosoft receives state tax credit to add jobs

A downtown Dayton tech firm received a 45 percent, 5-year tax credit from the state Monday that will allow the company to expand and hire up to 25 new employees at its office located at Tech Town.

The Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved the tax credit for Autosoft, a Pennsylvania-based auto dealer management system provider that will soon move into 5,748 square feet of space on the third floor of Tech Town building III at 241 Taylor St.

Auto Soft offers a product suite that allows dealerships to manage their businesses efficiently and profitably by providing integrated products, support, service, training and technology. The company’s products are used at nearly 2,000 auto dealerships.

The company has already added 14 employees and is in the hiring process, said Stephanie Woeste, vice president of marketing at Autosoft.

“There is a great talent here in the Dayton area. We are excited to be here. Tech Town is a good fit for our culture and is a state of the art facility,” Woeste said.

Autosoft is relocating its offices from Beavercreek to Tech Town in late March. The company, which has approximately 150 employees at several U.S. locations, expects to employ more than 35 associates at Tech Town during its first year of operations.

The company said the new hires would create $2 million in new annual payroll in the city. As part of the tax credit agreement, the state requires Auto Soft to maintain operations at the project location for at least eight years.

Tech Town is a technology-oriented campus located in the Ohio Aerospace Hub and is home to almost 50 small technology businesses and more than 350 technology workers.
