The plant, which makes fiber caulking cartridges for adhesives and sealants for companies such as DAP Products Inc., celebrates its new facility with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. today, Aug. 20, at 761 Space Drive.
Sonoco executives and Beavercreek Mayor Scott Hadley will tour the plant and have a buffet lunch.
In business in Beavercreek since 1974, the facility currently has 62 employees.
The 16,000-square-foot expansion allows the plant to consolidate some operations from the closed Orrville location.
The plant also is celebrating more than 750,000 working hours without any employees getting hurt.
“We’ve worked over six years injury-free here,” plant manager Norwood Bizzell said. “Safety is a very, very high priority.”
