Beer on tap in your room? Craft beer hotel could open in Ohio city

A brewery wants to change the travel game for beer lovers, and it could mean a first-of-its-kind hotel is coming to Columbus.

BrewDog USA just launched its brewery and headquarters in Columbus, and now wants to expand that to the first-ever craft beer hotel. The company started a campaign on Indiegogo to ask for monetary support for "the world's first crowdfunded craft beer hotel, attached to a brand new sour beer facility, all located on our site in Columbus."

The initial goal was to raise $75,000, and the company has already raised $170,419. Now, they’ve added a stretch goal — asking people to raise $200,000. If they meet that goal, the company will be able to build a rooftop residents bar.

Some of the perks of the proposed hotel? There would be a fridge filled with beer in the shower, so “you’re never more than arm’s reach away form a chilled can of Punk IPA.”

The owners of BrewDog say the hotel will allow guests to fully immerse themselves in the world of craft beer during their stay. A stay at the hotel will offer amenities like a hop-infused spa treatment and beer breakfast, and even craft beer on tap in your bedroom.

BrewDog initially opened in 2007 overseas in Scotland. In the past 10 years, the company has exported its beer to 60 countries and runs 49 bars across the world. Supporters who invest in the new hotel will get special perks like free tours and tastings, a free stay at the hotel, free beer and other perks.
