Chris Fine, Miamisburg development director, said he understands the move to be part of a corporate reorganization to group together jobs by function instead of by brand, so the executive jobs will be in Boston with the company’s other.
“The way it was explained to me is it’s a result of a corporate reorganization within the parent company Goodbaby International,” Fine said.
Requests for comment were left with Evenflo and Goodbaby.

In 2015, the city approved a $400,000 forgivable loan and Montgomery County also gave $175,000 toward a upgrade project for Evenflo, with officials at the time saying the incentives were needed to keep Goodbaby from moving the Evenflo headquarters to Boston or another location outside of the city.
Fine said the recent news “calls into question the development agreement” and the city officials will be reviewing the agreement they had with the company to see if it was followed. Fine also added that the city did not lose money on the development agreement. The city will also been reviewing what the loss means for jobs and payroll.
