“Because of our established SmartMeter network, we have a large volume of new data that gives us unprecedented insight into our grid,” said Michael Glass, PG&E’s director of information technology, in a statement.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
PG&E provides natural gas and electric service to about 15 million people throughout a 70,000-square-mile service area in northern and central California. The company has about 20,000 employees.
Teradata has about 350 employees at its world headquarters in Miami Twp.
