CareSource adds new executive position

CareSource has named Tony Tomazic as its chief consumer officer, a newly created executive position on the downtown Dayton-based health insurer’s leadership core team, the company announced Monday.

Tomazic will oversee CareSource’s enterprise marketing and communications, consumer experience and life services divisions, as well as its consumer advocacy group and charitable arm, the CareSource Foundation. In his new role, he will drive strategy for all CareSource consumer interactions as the company continues to expand into more markets and launch new products, the company said in a press release.

Tomazic has served as an executive leader in health care for both insurance companies and hospitals. Most recently, he was vice president and chief transformation officer at St. Luke’s Health System in Boise, Idaho, where he oversaw marketing and innovation. He was also director of consumer innovation at Humana — one of the nation’s largest health insurers — in Louisville, Ky.

“Prominent throughout Tony’s impressive career trajectory is his passion for delivering an unsurpassed consumer experience through high-impact, brand-building programs and services,” said CareSource President and CEO Pamela Morris.
