A company from Tampa, Fla. has found its way to downtown Dayton and has started doing business here, Erhardt Preitauer, CareSource chief executive and president, told listeners at the Dayton Development Coalition’s annual meeting Wednesday.

“It’s amazing,” Preitauer told a standing-room audience at Carillon Park’s Winsupply Center of Excellence. “This community is so welcoming. They’re going to join us, I mean all of us, in creating well over 100 new jobs here. They just signed a lease in downtown Dayton. They’re going to be part of the resurgence.”

The CEO did not name the company. But he said the company’s entry into Dayton is a good sign of ongoing “momentum.”

“For us, for the businesses we work on, the people who are coming, it’s exciting,” he said. “We’re building a lot of momentum that we want to be a part of. And with that momentum, people want to be part of the organization.”

Preitauer joined CareSource in May 2018. Based downtown, CareSource today is one of the nation’s largest Medicaid managed care plans with some 3,000 local employees.

A message with questions about the new company was left with a CareSource spokesman Thursday.
