Chappys eyes 2nd location at former Champps

The owners of Chappys Tap Room & Grille in Moraine have applied for a liquor license to open a second location in the former Champps sports bar space at 7880 Washington Village Drive, according to the Ohio Divison of Liquor Control.

A spokesperson for Chappys said Thursday that the sale of the Champps property has not closed, so the project is not a done deal. “But hopefully it will happen in the next couple of weeks,” the spokesperson said. “I’m optimistic it’s going to go through.”

Champps shut down in February 2014. Chappys, at 2733 West Alex-Bell Road near Springboro Pike (Ohio 741), opened in 2007.
