Company recalls crossbow on danger issue

A crossbow sold at many outdoor stores is being recalled due to the potential for serious injuries.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission said today TAC Elite, Tac Ordnance and Enigma crossbows can fire an arrow without the trigger being pulled. The product is imported by Precision Shooting Equipment of Tucson, Arizona, and manufactured in the U.S. and China.

The CPSC said consumers should stop using the crossbows immediately and return to them to Precision Shooting Equipment for a free repair. The company can be contacted at (800) 477-7789 from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and at www.PSE-archery.com

About 2,800 crossbows are part of the recall. They range in price from $600-$1,500. Besides Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s, the crossbows were sold at Kinsey’s Archery, Pape’s Inc., online, and in catalogs from June to November of 2013.

No injuries have been reported in connection to the recall.
