Construction firm wins $7.3M project for Wright-Patt work

A Dayton construction firm just won a big contract for work at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

Messer Construction was awarded a $7,375,000 firm-fixed-price contract for renovation of basement and addition to Building 45 at Wright-Patterson, the state’s largest single-site employer with some 30,000 military and civilian employees on site.

Building 45 is on the base’s Area B, off Eighth Street.

Bids were solicited via the internet with four bids received, the Department of Defense said in a release on the award. Work will be performed at the base with an estimated completion date of March 11, 2021.

Fiscal 2018 research, development, test and evaluation funds in the amount of $7,375,000 were obligated at the time of the award. The contracting agency is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Louisville, Ky.
