Recalls: refrigerators, rattles, home elevators and more

Refrigerators, infant rattles, bike helmets and home elevators are among the latest product recalls announced by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Over 100,000 Haier Top-Mount refrigerators are being recalled because they may short circuit and start a fire.

There are three reports of smoke, fire and property damage, but no one has been hurt.

The recalled refrigerators have the model numbers HA10TG31SB, HA10TG31SS,

HA10TG31SW, and will have a serial number with two instances of “BL” with the following numbers after the second “BL”: E9, EA, EB, EC, F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, F7, F8, F9, FA, FB, FC, G1, G2, G3, G4, G5, G6, G7, G8, G9, GA.

Infant rattles by i play are being recalled because pieces can break off and choke your child.

There are three reports of pieces coming off of the Green Sprouts rattles, but no injuries have been reported, according to the CPSC.

The rattles were sold at Whole Foods, Amazon.com and other retailers.

Don’t let your child play with the recalled rattles with the date codes 143714 or 21815 printed on the handle.

One person has been hurt in a fall off of a 2018 Schwinn Abbott bicycle after the downtube cracked, prompting a recall.

There are a total of 37 cracks in downtubes of the Adult Men’s Full Suspension Mountain bikes.

Don’t ride on the recalled bicycles and contact Pacific Cycle and 877-564-2261.

Thousands of Lazer bicycle helmets are under recall because they don’t meet safety standards and may cause a head injury.

Model LZB-08 is printed on a sticker inside the recalled helmets.

Don’t wear the Blade model in extra small and small, and the Elle, Jade, and Magma models in small, and contact Shimano 800-423-2420 to receive a free replacement helmet.  Model LZB-08 is printed on a sticker inside the recalled helmets.

Some pool and patio umbrellas are being recalled due to 21 reports of the arms breaking.

No one has been hurt, but you should take down the recalled Umbrosa Evolution umbrellas and contact ShadeScapes at 888-770-7157 to receive a free replacement.

Pendant lights are being recalled by CB2 because they can cause a fire or shock you.

The insulation on the electrical wiring can come loose on the CB2 Colby light fixtures in lacquered wood and glass.

Stop using the recalled lights, keep the switch off, and contact CB2 at 800-451-8217 to receive a free replacement and installation.

Ten people have been injured when Waupaca residential elevators fell to the bottom of the elevator shaft.

There are 12 reports total of the elevator cab falling unexpectedly and 10 reports of broken bones and sprains, prompting the recall.

Stop using the recalled Custom Lift 450# elevators with the serial numbers 10-1001 through 10-3131 and the Custom Lift 500# elevators with the serial numbers 10-3132 through 10-8111; 010-00-8112 through 010-10-8786; and 110-00-1000 through 110-03-1179, according to the CPSC.
