A Greenville newspaper has sold its building and plans to move.

Keith Foutz, president and publisher of The Early Bird, said the paper is now several miles outside of the city limits but has planned for years to move to the downtown area.

He said the company is now working to get a long-term lease in downtown Greenville, which he anticipates will be completed within the next week or two.

“While we won’t be moving until late October or early November, we are excited to be able to become a part of the vibrant downtown area,” Foutz said via email.

The building sold for $269,500 in a sale recorded Aug. 16 in Darke County property records. The buyer is listed as W. Horton Enterprises LLC.
