Day Air Credit Union makes funds available for homeowners

KETTERING — Day Air Credit Union has established a set-aside of funds from the Affordable Housing Program to help spur homeownership, according to a news release.

The credit union, working with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati, has $200,000 in grant money, the release states. Forty eligible applicants could be awarded $5,000 grants to help pay closing costs and down payments, the release states.

Homeowners must meet certain income requirements to qualify for the funds, officials said.

The program was launched March 1. Funds will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis, officials said.
