Faruki Ireland & Cox law firm, which has an office in downtown Dayton, has acquired Cincinnati-based BGD Law.

The acquisition is effective Jan. 1 and merges two of “region’s premier litigation boutiques,” according to the law firm. Six lawyers from BDG will join FI&C’s downtown Cincinnati office and will maintain a presence in northern Kentucky.

As part of the merger, the firm’s name will change to Faruki, Ireland, Cox, Rhinehart & Dusing P.L.L. A rebranding effort will be launched in early 2017.

The law firm specializes in business litigation, intellectual property, data security and privacy, media law and class actions. BGD is well-known in Cincinnati for its white-collar criminal defense work and commercial law practice.

The Dayton office, located at 110 N. Main St., will remain the largest office for the firm. Its other office is located in downtown Cincinnati in the PNC Center at 201 E. Fifth St.

“We started this firm nearly 30 years ago based on exceptional attorneys seeking extraordinary results for our clients,” said Jeff Ireland, managing partner for FI&C. “This merger continues those high standards and brings together talented lawyers. We are tremendously excited at the opportunities created by our combined practice.”

Erin Rhinehart, a partner for Faruki Ireland & Cox, said the firm is poised for more growth and expansion in the future.

“In 1989, FI&C’s founders established a high-caliber practice with a strong team of talented lawyers in a small, collegial environment; the acquistion of BGD Law builds on that foundation and propels the firm forward for continued growth to better serve our clients.”
