Dayton parking rates among lowest in state

DAYTON — When it comes to parking, it pays to be an early bird, particularly in Dayton.

In fact, parking rates in the city are among the lowest in Ohio, according to an annual review of parking rates in North America by the National Parking Association.

Dayton’s daily early-bird parking rates range from $1.50, the lowest among seven Ohio cities surveyed, to $7.

The survey also found the following range of rates in effect in Dayton during July and August:

• first hour, weekday - daytime: $1 to $2.50

• daily weekday: $1.50 to $10

• 12 to 24 hours on a weekday: $1.50 to $15

• Evenings on weekdays and weekends: $1.50 to $6

• Monthly rates, reserved: $99 to $145

• Monthly rates, unreserved: $35 to $95

The survey found the recession had hurt downtown and airport parking facilities, which saw revenue declines of 4 percent and 9 percent, respectively.
