Action Sports Center — home to some of the largest youth baseball tournaments in the area — is closed for now after tornado and storm damage destroyed the sports fields and indoor venue off Gateway Road.

Kyle Coby, one of the owners of Action Sports Center, said he first knew something was wrong when he got the call from their alarm company late Monday night saying all of the alarms at the venue were going off.

The center’s indoor center, where all types of sports are played, is destroyed and the baseball fields were wrecked, with fences down and light posts snapped.

“It is complete devastation,” Coby said.

He said the business owners will need to work with insurance before they have more information on what’s next. He said it is difficult to put a time on when they could be open, but expects to be closed the rest of 2019.

“We’re shut down for a long time,” Coby said.
