Dayton Superior continues acquisitions

Dayton Superior has acquired the assets of Unitex Chemicals, a Kansas City, Mo., developer and manufacturer of chemical-based products for concrete construction and repair.

Unitex specializes in the protection and restoration of concrete used in bridges, highways, airports, marine and other applications, Dayton Superior said in an announcement Monday.

Dayton Superior will retain the Unitex brand name and Kansas City location, the company said. Unitex owner John Grissinger will continue as president of the business.

Last week, Dayton Superior said it was buying the assets of a bankrupt construction products company, Universal Building Products Inc.

Dayton Superior provides products used in the nonresidential, concrete construction market. The Miamisburg-based company has about 110 local employees.
