Dorothy Lane Market to host grand re-opening today

Dorothy Lane Market’s cooking school and culinary center will host an open house and grand re-opening party from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, June 20.

Workers spent more than four months gutting and renovating the space at 6161 Far Hills Ave. adjacent to DLM’s Washington Square store. The project doubled the facility’s seating capacity for events from 32 to 64, according to Carrie Walters, the culinary center’s chef. The center can now accommodate 24 people for hands-on cooking classes, up from 12, Walters said in an interview.

Appetizers and light refreshments will be served at the free open house, and special pricing will be available on new lines of cookware and other kitchen equipment, DLM officials said.

The DLM Culinary Center will offer more than 40 cooking classes and several kids' cooking camps during its three-month summer schedule. The center is also available for private events. Its regular hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, go to www.dorothylane.com.
