Southwest Ohio Dressbarn stores escaped early rounds of closures, but the company said all stores will be closed by the end of the year.

Nine stores were set to close in July and Dressbarn recently released a list of 53 more stores to close by the end of August. The only Ohio store in the first rounds to be axed is in Parma near Cleveland. The Dayton Mall previously had a DressBarn location, but it closed before the apparel retailer announced plans to shut down.

There are still stores at the Cincinnati Premium Outlets, Voice of Amercia Center Drive in West Chester, Jeffersonville Tanger Outlets and in Cincinnati and Columbus. All will close by the end of this year, the company said.

“We have received overwhelming landlord support for our plan, which will allow us to implement our wind down in a manner that provides the best recovery for our landlords. Further, we are current, and expect to remain so, with our vendors and suppliers,” said Steven Taylor, chief financial officer of Dressbarn.

Hilco Steambank has been hired to find a buyer for the intellectual property assets of Dressbarn, including U.S. and international trademarks, domain names and other assets.

“A buyer of the Dressbarn brand has the unique opportunity to connect with a devoted customer base and build upon a brand heritage with a well-established presence throughout the U.S.,” said David Peress, executive vice president of Hilco Streambank.
