A warehouse property near the Dayton Dragons stadium in downtown Dayton has a new owner after a recent $1 million sale.

Platform III-Third LLC acquired the property at 535 E. Third St. from 535 Dayton LLC, Montgomery County property records show.

535 E Third LLC spent $200,000 in May 2017 to buy the five-story building at the corner of East Third and Sears streets in the Webster Station section of downtown, near the Cannery Lofts Apartments.

The 86,640-square-foot building was built in 1913.

This part of downtown is increasingly busy.

The Windsor Cos. took over the development of the Fire Blocks District last summer with the goal of reinvigorating both sides of Third between St. Clair and Jefferson streets for commercial and residential use.

Also, this news outlet reported early this year Maria and Eric Walusis, owners of Watermark restaurant in Miamisburg, were in negotiations to open a new restaurant in space at the corner of South Jefferson and East Third streets.

And the Idea Collective, a Dayton design firm, has announced plans on its web site for a new restaurant and bar, thought to be opening in Dayton’s Avante-Garde building, in the 600 block of East Third.

The Avante-Garde is already home to, or soon will be, Business Furniture, defense contractor JJR Solutions and software company Tangram Flex.
