New wine, liquor store opens on Wilmington Pike

A new wine shop and liquor store called Fine Wine & True Spirits has opened at 6080 Wilmington Pike in Sugarcreek Twp.

The space in the Sugarcreek Plaza previously housed The Blind Spot, which closed more than a year ago.

The shop sells liquor, wine and craft and domestic beers. A temperature-controlled room is under construction for display of fine wines, and the wine shop intends to expand its wine and beer selection over the next two weeks and add gourmet foods early next year, Jay Patel, the store’s co-owner, said today.

Fine Wine & True Spirits will host an open house and wine tasting from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. this Friday, Dec. 6, according to Patel. Regular hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Sugarcreek Twp. Administrator Barry Tiffany told the Dayton Daily News in September that the wine and beer shop joins at least three other new businesses that have opened in recent months in or around Sugacreek Plaza, including Crafter’s Lodge, Starbucks and Orange Leaf frozen yogurt.

“It’s always good to see empty spaces filling up,” Tiffany said.
