Elder-Beerman to hire 110 seasonal employees locally

Bon-Ton Stores, the corporate parent of this region’s Elder-Beerman stores, said today it will hire 12,900 seasonal employees — 110 of them in the Dayton area — for the busy holiday shopping season.

The company started accepting seasonal applications this week, and hopes to have all positions filled the week before Thanksgiving, according to Christine M. Hojnacki, Bon-Ton’s vice president for public relations. Hojnacki said the Milwaukee-based department-store company’s seasonal hiring will be at about the same level as last year.
