Fairborn call center expects to hire 100

A customer call company is Fairborn is looking for 100 new employees, a company manager said Friday.

Teleperformance General Manager Mike Lewis said the company plans an open house for job seekers from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the company’s Fairborn location, 57 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Road.

Businesses outsource call-center functions to Teleperformance, company officials said. Teleperformance handles calls from customers of wireless companies and other clients in the health care industry. The company also handles IT support calls for other clients. Clients often call Teleperformance centers to resolve bill questions or make payments.

Lewis said the company is looking for employees who can handle in-bound customer service calls. The company makes no out-bound calls, he said.

“Continued growth by one of current clients has brought jobs to the area, and we’re kind of excited about that,” Lewis said.

Dustin Collins — who started his career with Teleperfmance at the Fairborn call center and today is a director of recruiting for the company in Columbus — said Teleperformance has been in Fairborn for 10 years. The company has 550 full- and part-time employees in Fairborn.

“We’re looking for people-people, people have desire to help other people,” Collins said. Good communication skills are a must, he said.

Those interested in applying may visit the open house or go to Teleperformance.com to apply online, Lewis said. If the company is interested, it will call applicants in 24 to 48 hours, he said.

Teleperformance has about 135,000 employees worldwide.
