February best month for home bargains

Temperatures outside may be chilly, but it might pay off to brave the cold in February if you’re house hunting, according to new data released by ATTOM Data Solutions, formerly RealtyTrac.

Although total sales are generally lower than other months, February has historically been the best month for bargain-shopping for homes, according to ATTOM, which found February has registered the lowest median price for U.S. sales of single family homes and condos over the past 16 years at $168,000.
