Firm with local ties earns national ranking

DAYTON — An industry magazine has named Barge Waggoner Sumner & Cannon, which has an office here, among the top 50 engineering and architecture firms in the country, the company said.

Building Design + Construction magazine recognized BWSC as part of the publication’s 2009 Giants 300 survey, according to a news release. BWSC ranked 31st among engineering and architecture firms this year, unchanged from its 2008 ranking, the company said.

“It’s very gratifying to see the efforts of our hard-working, talented team recognized by our industry,” L. Lynn Cain, manager of BWSC’s local office, said in a statement.

Additionally, the firm was ranked among industrial design, state/local government design, reconstruction design and green design categories, a news release states. The company also was recognized for its Green Building Certification Institute’s LEED accredited professionals building team, the release states.

BWSC in a news release said it has offices in Tennessee, Alabama and Ohio.
