Five local radio stations sold

Five Dayton-area radio stations have changed hands as part of the merger of two broadcast companies headquartered in Portland, Ore., according to a media release.

Alpha Broadcasting and L & L Broadcasting merged effective July 1, becoming Alpha Media. Corporate headquarters for the company will remain in Portland, Ore.

Also effective July 1, L & L Broadcasting closed on the purchase of 19 radio stations from Main Line Broadcasting for $57 million. Main Line is headquartered in Philadelphia and operates 19 stations in four markets including Dayton; Louisville, Ky.; Richmond, Va.; and Hagerstown, Md.-Chambersburg, Penn.

Main Line’s former Dayton-area stations are 92.1 WROU, Fly 92.9, Click 101.5, Hot 102.9 and ESPN 1410. Those stations are now operated by Alpha Media, officials said.
