Auction for former strip club postponed to Friday

The auction for the former Harem strip club site in Harrison Twp. has been postponed.

Originally scheduled for Thursday, the online auction is now set for 1 p.m. Friday, according to the Ohio Sheriff's Sales website.

The Harrison Twp. property that formerly housed The Harem strip club will be auctioned online Thursday by the order of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

The former strip club on North Dixie Drive closed in 2017 after it was declared a nuisance in court. Montgomery County Prosecutor Mat Heck Jr. called it a “sex and drug den.”

The opening bid for the property cannot be lower than $220,500, according to the sheriff’s auction website. The required deposit is 10 percent on the day of the auction.

The Ohio Liquor Control Commission revoked the liquor permit of the Harrison Twp. business after a 2017 investigation and raid led to charges of illegal sex acts, felony drug trafficking and food stamp fraud.
