Fricker’s sets opening date for new Miamisburg location

The Fricker’s restaurant coming to the former Lone Star Steakhouse space at 251 N. Springboro Pike (Ohio 741) near the Dayton Mall will open to the public March 11, a spokesman for the Miamisburg-based restaurant chain said this afternoon.

The new restaurant will seat an estimated 300 inside, and another 110 on a patio, according to Jim Manley, Fricker’s marketing manager. The 5,400-square-foot space had been empty for more than two years since Lone Star abruptly closed both its Miller Lane and Miamisburg locations on Nov. 6, 2012.

After the opening weeks, the new Fricker’s will likely employ 30 to 50 people, Manley said. Hiring for the new location is underway; applicants can apply through www.frickers.com or at any existing Fricker’s, Manley said.

Manley said Fricker’s officials wanted to open a new location in proximity to their original flagship restaurant up the street on Ohio 741 in West Carrollton, which burned to the ground in 2008.

The Miamisburg restaurant will be the chain’s 24th in Ohio and Michigan.
