Gap store at Dayton Mall closing

A clothing and accessories retailer at the Dayton Mall will be closing this month, mall officials said.

The Gap store location at the Dayton Mall in Miami Twp. will close by Jan. 15, said Dave Duebber, the mall’s general manager. The store’s lease was up this month and its owner decided not to renew, he said.

Duebber said the entire, 9,400-square-foot Gap space will be re-leased starting as early as late February. He declined to name any replacement tenants because the deals are not yet finalized.

After the Dayton Mall location closes, the only Gap store in the Dayton region will be at The Greene Town Center in Beavercreek.

The Gap stores at the Mall at Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek closed in 2012.

Officials from Gap Inc., the San Francisco-based the parent company of Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Piperlime and Athleta stores, could not be reached for comment.
