Premier is having an open house 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday and opening the center Monday. There will be flu vaccines at the event.

The center, which was first announced in December, will have 12 emergency beds, including two trauma bays. The center is considered part of Miami Valley and will be staffed by the same physicians as the main hospital.

“The same emergency team that staffs all Miami Valley Hospital emergency departments is prepared to support the new Austin Boulevard Emergency Center,” Dr. Darin Pangalangan, chair of the Premier Health Emergency and Trauma Institute, said in a statement about the opening. “The center will serve as a rapid access point when every minute counts, and its integrated connection to all specialty services provided within the Premier Health system truly does take care to a higher level in Miamisburg.”

The Dayton Daily News previously reported that hospitals around the region have been adding to their network of emergency centers in recent years, in line with a surge of these centers built around the state.
