Home Builders Association of Dayton picks 70th president

CENTERVILLE – Jeff Grisez of Generations Construction was installed as 2011 president of the Home Builders Association of Dayton, one of several officers installed in a recent ceremony.

The inaugural ceremony was held Jan. 29 at Yankee Trace Golf Club. More than 120 attended the event, HBA officials said in a news release.

Grisez is the local HBA’s 70th president.

The organization’s executive committee also includes: vice president, Adam Zengel of Zengel Construction; treasurer, Lisa Allan of Cox Ohio Media; secretary, Rick Flaute of Supply One. The committee also includes David Klass of Dominus Development; Larry Phillips of the Phillips Companies; and immediate past president, Kim Haverstick of Haverstick Builders.

This year’s board of directors includes: Chad Ellis of Ellis Custom Homes; Dan DeVol of Daniel DeVol Custom Builder; Curt Gholston of Airtron, Greg Page of Gregory S. Page Co., LPA; Dan Ernst of Ernst Concrete and Michael Harrison of MetLife Home Loans.

Council chairs include: remodelers council chair, Ray Bell of Greater Dayton Building and Remodeling; past presidents council chair, Jim Zengel of Zengel Construction; associates council chair, Ted Stahl of Dayton Door Sales; sales and marketing council chair, Graham Bailey of Vectren Energy Delivery; large builders and developers council chair, Bob Fryer of Caesars Creek Lake Estates; and small and custom builders council chair, Lance Oakes of Design Homes and Development.

HBA staff member Joanie Haverstick, Director of Special Projects and to Jim Zengel, HBA’s past president received president’s awards.

Cox Ohio Media received the 2010 industry partner award. The Simms family, led by contractors Mike and Charlie Simms, whose family has been in Dayton since the 1800s, received the industry pioneer award.

Stahl was named associate of the year.

Bob Fryer, a Greene County Sugarcreek Township resident, was named builder member of the year.

Greg Vreeland was recognized with the The Robert E. McDaniel / Karl L. Zengel Leadership Award.
