Take for example InnoMark Communications, which creates visual merchandising displays from inception to distribution. They create, among other things, the displays you see at a grocery store — from concept to completion.
InnoMark has an office in Springboro and recently acquired C&O Printing Inc., a Vandalia-based commercial lithographer. The company is jointly owned by local residents Gary Boens, Bill Fair and Paul Molyneaux, who moved to the region from Pittsburgh, Pa., after buying Printing Service Co. in 1991.
InnoMark, which employs 450 full-time in eight facilities in five states, is now focusing on growing work in the Dayton region. Locally, it has 180 employees in Springboro and Vandalia and plans to add more as operations expand. Their “three-prong attack” of packaging, point-of-sale visual merchandising material and commercial printing is “bringing a new paradigm to Dayton,” Boens said.
The C&O acquisition added about 40 employees to the company. Next steps include moving some fabricating equipment and the transfer of the company’s packaging division from Fairfield in Butler County to Vandalia. These moves will add about 15 employees to the Vandalia office, Boens noted.
By adding InnoMark’s sales expertise to C&O’s high-quality product and high-efficiency operation, the company will be able to grow by bringing in work from across the country.
And, this growth in national work exposes people from other parts of the country to the Dayton region, Boens said. The company’s client base includes Fortune 500 clients, who visit regularly.
“They are flying in and out of the Dayton airport,” he said. “We are bringing people and revenue into the Dayton region. We don’t just put ink on paper. We have a whole entire company dedicated to developing ideas and innovation for our clients.”
