Piada spokeswoman Meghan Dauer said the Columbus-based chain “is interested in having a restaurant in Kettering. However, there is an approval process we must go through first. We are about 60 days away from knowing whether or not we will be able to move forward.”
The first Dayton-area Piada currently under construction at 1047 Miamisburg-Centerville Road in the Township Square shopping center in Washington Twp. is scheduled to open in October or November, Dauer said. “We will have a better target date in a couple of weeks,” Dauer said.
The Piada concept, featuring custom-rolled wraps, pasta bowls and salads, is the brainchild of Chris Doody, co-founder of the Bravo and Brio Italian restaurant chains. Doody said in March that he chose Dayton as the first expansion of Piada outside of the Columbus area because the Dayton area “has been a great market for Brio and Bravo.”
