Kroger to unveil renovations at Sugarcreek Twp. store

Renovations of the Kroger store in Sugarcreek Twp. are finished and the company will show off the changes this week.

The 67,000-square-foot store, located at 5480 Wilmington Pike, will open at 8 a.m. on Thursday. The Cincinnati-headquartered grocery retailer spent $6.4 million on the store renovation, which includes new decor, lighting and floors.

It also features a new open air seafood case with a lobster tank and meat case. Customers can expect to find more natural foods throughout the store, and a new wine tasting bar.

“We value our customers and hope the investment we are making will improve their shopping experience,” said Tim Brown, president of Kroger’s Cincinnati/Dayton Division. “The fresh, new look and design of the Sugarcreek store will make shopping easier and more convenient – a true one-stop shopping experience.”

Kroger also is opening a new 125,000-square-foot grocery store in Centerville on Feedwire Road. That store construction is expected to be finished in the first half of 2017.

Kroger employs more than 20,000 workers in 109 locations.
