LexisNexis combines MEDai into health care unit

LexisNexis Risk Solutions has completed an agreement with sister company Elsevier to transfer MEDai, its clinical analytics-focused business unit, to the LexisNexis health care business, company officials said.

LexisNexis Risk Solutions and Elsevier are both part of Reed Elsevier Group.

Officials said the combined organization will allow LexisNexis to offer a more comprehensive set of services to cut wasteful spending, help coordinate better care, improve health management, enhance clinical outcomes and reduce exposure to fraud, waste and abuse.

LexisNexis Risk Solutions was spun off from the Dayton-based LexisNexis Legal and Professional division. The Risk Solutions division is located near Atlanta.

LexisNexis has about 3,400 employees and contractors in Miami Twp., which is the company’s biggest single concentration of employment.
